The Rolex GMT-Master 16710 Pepsi has a fascinating history that dates back to the 1950s. The wristwatch was originally developed for Pan American World Airways to help their pilots navigate flights across multiple time zones.

The first model of the GMT-Master was launched in 1954 and featured an additional hand that indicated a second time zone. The distinctive red and blue "Pepsi" dial was later introduced to help distinguish between day and night hours in different time zones.

Over the years, the GMT-Master 16710 Pepsi has undergone numerous technological and stylistic improvements. The original GMT-Master was replaced by the GMT-Master II, which was introduced in the 1980s. The GMT-Master II features an improved movement that allows for faster adjustment of the additional time zone, as well as a more robust case and improved water resistance.

Despite the many improvements that the GMT-Master II brought over the original GMT-Master, the GMT-Master 16710 Pepsi remains highly sought after by collectors and watch enthusiasts.
