Back in 1957, the Speedmaster was originally designed as a watch for racing purposes. However, it wasn't until 1969 when it achieved legendary status. The hand-wound chronograph accompanied the Apollo 11 crew to the Moon's surface, bringing immense fame to the Speedmaster. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin wore the reference 105.012, while Michael Collins sported the later 145.012 during the mission.
This ref. 3592.50.00 was produced during a transitional period for OMEGA from the late '80s to the mid-1990s, resulting in slight variations between earlier and later versions of the watch.
